In this Myrrh Ceremony with Sound Journey, we will enter inner peace and create an expanded state of awareness in a purification and visionary fumigation ritual with Myrrh Temple Incense and anointing with Myrrh Sacred Oil in preparation for receiving the teachings and ancient knowledge of the Grandmothers, and awake our memories.
Journeying beyond time, carried by the sound waves from the gongs, crystal singing bowls, flutes, drums, chimes and other instruments, we will set our intention to explore a deep reconnection with our female ancestral lineage, integrate the grief of separation and to root into belonging.
We will explore the myth of Isis and Mary Magdalena as a Myrrhbearer; the esoterism and employment of Myrrh in ancient Egyptian temples and funerary ceremonies and why Myrrh was so important for these Priestesses of the Sacred Oils.
ABOUTH NAMIBIAN MYRRH
From the desert of Namibia, this ancient, precious omumbiri Myrrh is generously shared with us by the Himba women that have used Commiphora wildii since time immemorial. Holding an archaic soulfulness, this oil is a custodian of traditional knowledge. A knowledge enshrined in the desert’s sand and the bones of the grandmothers. An alluring, soulful scent reminiscent of the ancient Namib Desert and the Grandmother’s songs. This oil is a wisdom keeper, that preserved the secrets buried in the desert through the Himba culture up to these modern days, reawakening primordial instinct and earthly connection: through honouring our own body, we honour the earth mother.

ABOUT MYRRH TEMPLE INCENSE
Divine sweet scent evokative of cerimonial rituals and ancient civilazations, this powerful resin has spiritual qualities well known and appreciated by our ancestors that regarded Myrrh as valuable as gold.
Since ancient times Myrrh was used for ritual fumigation in many different ancient cultures. Myrrh was an important ingredient in many sacred oils blends and the ancient Egyptians burned it daily in Temple rituals for purification and to offer praises to the statues representing the deities. Due to its antibacterial properties, Myrrh was also used by the Ancient Egyptians in their embalming process.
